Why we do it…

The idea for Golden Age Concierge Services for Seniors grew from our own experiences helping our aging parents here in Auburn. Now in their 80s, they’re finding that some of the tasks they used to handle easily—like changing light bulbs or moving furniture—have become more difficult. And as technology has rapidly advanced, they, like many seniors, struggle to keep up with the constant changes. When something doesn’t work or they need assistance, they often turn to us for help, especially when the solution is needed right now.

Over the past 18 months, Kara and Steve discussed what this business would look like should they decided to proceed. As Kara approaches retirement from her 33-year career in education, she’s been contemplating a meaningful way to continue working, even after leaving the classroom. After much thought and prayer, she realized that helping older adults with technology and aging-in-place issues was her true calling. This is why we’ve dedicated ourselves to Golden Age Concierge Services—a way to assist the seniors in our community with the challenges that come with aging, while offering the support they need to stay independent and comfortable.

Over the years, we’ve also heard too many stories of seniors being taken advantage of by dishonest individuals. Now that we see our own parents in this stage of life, we’re even more aware of how vulnerable seniors can be to scams and deceit. With Golden Age Concierge Services, we aim to provide simple, reliable solutions that protect seniors from being swindled or manipulated. Our goal is to create a trusted resource for seniors in our community—someone who will help, not take advantage.
